The Hipster-O-Meter is an application to help settle furious debates between two individuals about who has the most hip music collection. Each user imports their own iTunes playlist XML file and then Hipster-O-Meter gets to work. It gathers every artist on your iTunes playlist and searches on LastFm for how many other people listen to the same artists. It then performs some advanced, proprietary mathematical calculations to determine who has the least amount of average listeners. Any artists which are not found give just 1 listener (you), so if someone is too hardcore to have their music on LastFm, their score will reflect it. There is now a way to settle the decade-long social debates on how hip you and your music collection are!
