Artists Statement

This book is a reflection of the conflict between postmodernism and antiquity. Ari is a symbol for the classical while, quite obviously, the robots are a symbol for postmodernism. Today, computers and the new way of thinking have destroyed almost all forms of the classical, and this is something I wanted to address in my book. The storyline, though set in the future, follows that of the events which have already occurred. We were once content with our being until these robots came and questioned us. The book has also been built in a way that reflects the aforementioned struggle. The illustrations were hand drawn, scanned, and retraced on the computer, the same way postmodernism takes things of the past and defaces them.
